01Who this policy covers
HappyWords Google Reviews is an app for Wix sites that shows a business's Google reviews on its website. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have.
It covers three groups of people:
- Site owners and their collaborators, who install the app and use its dashboard.
- Site visitors, who see the reviews on a site that uses the app.
- Reviewers, whose public Google reviews a site owner chooses to display.
02Information we collect
From site owners
- Site and account details from Wix. When the app is installed, Wix shares the site's identifiers, name, address and language, and the owner's email address.
- Plan and billing status. Which plan the site is on and its billing events, as reported by Wix. Payments are handled by Wix; we never receive card details.
- Your connected business. The Google Maps link or business you choose, and its public name, rating and number of reviews.
- Your display choices. The minimum rating you set and which reviews you pin or hide.
- Google account details, only if you sign in with Google. Your Google account identifier and email address, and an access credential that is stored encrypted.
- Support messages. The email address and message you send from the Support tab, with your site's name and address so we can help.
- Ratings and feedback. The star rating you give the app in the dashboard and anything you write with it, along with your site's name and address.
- Activity in the app. A record of searches, connections and refreshes, used to apply fair-use limits.
- Dashboard usage and diagnostics. How the dashboard is used: pages opened, clicks, errors and technical details such as browser type. See Dashboard analytics below.
From site visitors
The reviews section and badge are designed to collect nothing about visitors. They set no cookies, use no tracking or advertising technology, and do not ask visitors for any information. As with any web request, our servers briefly process technical details such as the IP address and browser type in order to deliver the reviews and keep the service secure.
About reviewers
We store reviews that are publicly visible on Google for the connected business: the reviewer's display name, profile picture and profile link, the star rating, the review text and date, and any reply from the business.
03How we use information
- To retrieve a business's reviews and show them on the owner's site.
- To keep the app working: authenticating requests, applying usage limits and preventing abuse.
- To manage plans and billing status with Wix.
- To answer support requests and send important notices about the service.
- To find and fix problems and to improve how the app works.
- To meet our legal obligations.
04Information from Google
Public reviews are read from a business's Google listing. If you choose to sign in with Google, the app uses that access only to list the businesses your account manages and to read their reviews, so they can be shown on your site.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use this information for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train generalised artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
You can withdraw the app's access at any time from the dashboard or from your Google Account permissions. Access is also withdrawn automatically when the app is uninstalled.
05Dashboard analytics
To understand where the dashboard is confusing and to reproduce problems that owners report, we use a third-party session analytics service. It records how the dashboard is used: the pages opened, clicks, scrolling, errors and technical details about the browser and device.
These recordings are limited by design:
- They cover the app's dashboard only. Site visitors are never recorded.
- Text typed into fields is masked before it leaves the browser.
- The contents of requests and responses, and the credentials that authenticate them, are not captured.
- A recording is linked to the site it came from, not to the owner's email address.
The service acts on our behalf, under contract, and may not use the recordings for its own purposes. If you would rather not be recorded, contact us and we will exclude your site.
07How long we keep information
- While the app is installed, we keep the information needed to provide it. Stored reviews are replaced each time they are refreshed.
- When the app is uninstalled, your site details, plan status, connected business, stored reviews and any Google access are deleted.
- Support messages, ratings, feedback and activity records may be kept after that so we can follow up, prevent abuse and keep our records. You can ask us to delete them.
- Server logs and dashboard recordings are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
08Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections, access credentials are stored encrypted, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will tell you about a breach where the law requires it.
09Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict how it is used. To make a request, email support@happywordsapp.com. We will respond within the time the law allows, and you will not be treated differently for making one. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
- Site owners can change or disconnect their business in the dashboard, and remove their data by uninstalling the app.
- Reviewers can edit or delete a review on Google, and the change is picked up the next time the business's reviews are refreshed. You can also ask the business, or us, to stop displaying a review.
- Site visitors: the site you visited decides what it shows and is responsible for its own privacy policy.
10International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for those transfers.
11Children
The app is made for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and we will give notice in the app before a change that significantly affects how your information is used.
